What we collect — and what we don’t

Short version: your email, your payment status, and a private feed token — all held by Stripe or stored against your subscription. No third-party tracking. No analytics JavaScript on this site. Stripe holds your card. We never touch it.

What We Hold

The data tied to one active subscription

Three things only — each one required to keep the private feed running, and each one tied to a single Stripe-backed customer record.

  1. 1

    Your email address

Stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We use it to reconcile a subscription session against a Stripe customer record — never to send marketing email, never to sell, never to share.

  2. 2

    Your payment status

Whether the subscription is active, in a 3-day failed-renewal grace window, or cancelled. The card itself is held by Stripe — we never see the number, the expiry, or the CVV.

  3. 3

Your private Hello Audio feed token

A long random string that authenticates the private RSS URL your podcast app pulls from. It is generated per subscriber, stored alongside the subscription record, and never exposed outside the audio endpoint that serves it.

What We Don’t Collect

The non-list

Privacy policies often say what a site collects and then leave the rest to imagination. Here is the explicit list of what this site does notdo — the same way we’d want it written if we were the subscriber.

  • No third-party analytics JavaScript on this site — no GA4, no Plausible, no Segment.

  • No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no Meta, TikTok, or LinkedIn trackers.

  • No behavioral profiling — we do not build a profile of any subscriber beyond "has Stripe paid this month".

  • No selling, renting, or trading of subscriber data with data brokers, ad networks, or affiliates.

  • No email-open pixel tracking on any message we send — sent mail never includes a tracking beacon.

  • No third-party fonts, no session-replay tools, no Hotjar, no heatmaps.

Cookies

What lands in your browser

Short version: one third-party checkout cookie from Stripe, and possibly a small first-party analytics cookie. Nothing else. No advertising cookies, ever.

Stripe checkout cookie

A functional cookie Stripe sets during the hosted checkout to keep your payment session alive. Strictly necessary for payment — it cannot be turned off without abandoning checkout. We do not set it; Stripe does.

Platform analytics (if enabled)

A single first-party cookie set by the platform layer that powers this site. It exists only to count anonymous page views and is never shared with a third party. If the platform does not have analytics enabled, no cookie is set at all.

Locale preference (if multi-language is added later)

If the site is later published in more than one language, a small functional cookie may remember your language choice. The site is currently English-only, so no such cookie is set today.

The Feed Token

Your feed URL is yours — treat it like a password

Every subscriber gets a private RSS URL keyed to a long random token — the same token your podcast app uses to authenticate. The URL is never indexed, never published, and not discoverable through the public web. Treat it like a password and do not paste it publicly.

The token is what the audio-serving endpoint checks on every pull. We do not log it to a third-party analytics tool, do not include it in any email we send, and do not expose it to any service outside the audio pipeline.

When the subscription is cancelled, the token stops serving audio — the private URL in your podcast app goes silent. Resubscribing with the same email does not reactivate the old token; each new active subscription generates a fresh one.

Questions, corrections, or a request to forget

The fastest way to reach a human is email. Data-deletion requests, billing questions, and corrections all go to the same inbox.
